Great watch (2010-05-27)
I bought this watch to replace my old running watch which was chewed up by the dog. That is the only reason I've ever had to replace these styles of watches. They are great for running and swimming. I've used it to mark my miles as I run and in the pool to time distances. I like the sleek look and comfort of it. It's not bulky. I often wear it on casual days too. Love that it's waterproof. The alarm feature has worked well for me too. Overall, very happy with the watch. Price was much better than in the specialty running stores.

A great sport watch! (2010-05-26)
I originally bought this watch just so I could count laps when running the track at my YMCA or laps in the pool. I knew the watch could do much more than that, but I really thought it would be too confusing without pulling out the directions every time I wanted to do something.
It is actually very easy to use, and it does things I never thought I'd use, but now do weekly.

The CHRONO feature easily counts laps and times each lap (awesome when training 500+ meters on a 25 meter pool, otherwise I'd totally lose count). the TIMER is exactly that, but you can set hours, seconds, etc., and even set it to repeat at the end of the timer (when doing repetitions). The INTTMR (intermittent timer) is great for setting intervals on a run, when doing circut training, or anything that requires two or more different alternating times. Then there's 3 different alarms.

The Indiglo makes it very easy to see at night, and the band is nice and small for my small wrists. I bought the watch in light gray, but I'll probably eventually buy another in a different color because I'm a girl and I like to coordinate things. ;)

New Purple Timepiece (2010-05-19)
Was looking for a purple watch with numbers that I could read without my glasses and lo and behold, one showed up in Amazon. I ordered it and am really quite pleased with being able to read the actual numbers (as I work in a hospital) and my favorite color as well. It is so comfortable to wear as well. Thank you Amazon.com!!

Great product but word of advice... (2010-04-27)
This is my third Ironman and for those of you who have suffered early breakage of the face seal, here's my word of caution: don't directly expose it to anything with oil in it. No suntan lotion, no insect repellant, no hair conditioners, no moisturizers. If you get that stuff directly on the face of the watch, it might crack the seal. I instantly killed my first Ironman by accidentally dropping a gob of sunscreen directly on it. Since then I've been more careful and they seem to survive the minor residues of oily products (such as what will wash off with sweat) as long as there isn't a direct application.

IF Your Strap Breaks!!! (2010-04-23)
I recently wrote a nasty email to customer service at Timex Group because I was upset about my irreplaceable broken strap. However, the kind and patient people in Little Rock informed me that for $10 I can send my watch in to their service center ($1.39 postage) and they will fix the strap! The turn around time was a couple weeks as they said, but when I got my watch today I was pleasantly surprised that they had not fixed the strap. They had in fact sent me a new watch entirely! Finally, a customer service that works for you even when you're out of warranty. I think its pretty great. So, if you have this problem just give a call to the TG Service Center in Little Rock and ask them about it.
