Great Watch for an active man. (2010-08-18)
This watch is perfect for a man who spends his time outside. Not only does it look good, but it's durable and and keeps accurate time.
Customizable and Lightweight!!! (2010-08-17)
I was looking at the 50 lap version, but it seemed to be a bit bulky for an all-purpose watch. I wanted something I could wear in a somewhat dressy setting, but also wear when working out or in any kind of active day.
I haven't had it long enough to say if it is as water-proof as it says, but I can say this watch was exactly what I was looking for.
It's lightweight (though the stainless steel band isn't cheap looking), it's customizable for my needs (as far as I can tell, you can select what the watch face shows when in the watch mode, plus has the ability to have 3 time zones at once), and the biggest deal for me was the countdown time with repeat function. For Crossfit training this comes in handy when you are trying to do 1 minute sets without stopping to restart the countdown or having to watch a stopwatch. I can just concentrate on my work out and listen for the beeping (it beeps about 10 seconds, although that may be customizable as well...).
The price is definitely right on Amazon, although consider getting it at a retailer that shortens the band for free (if you purchase in their store). Where I bought it, they not only adjusted the band (which you will most likely need, unless you have gorilla wrists), but also will replace the battery for free in the first year, and only $5 after that. Shop around, because this watch is a great deal.
NEW WATCH (2010-06-12)
This is about my 6th or 7th IRONMAN Indiglo TIMEX Watch. They are great, rugged, long lasting, functionally fantastic and looks great!
I started using TIMEX exclusively when I discovered how rugged they were when I was in the Navy onboard submarines. A watch can take a beating on subs but my TIMEX always seemed to endure that environment.
Love the INDIGLO night light function.....no other watch can compare.
EVERYONE should own one of these watches!

I love this watch and the previous similar models.
Pros:
It keeps accurate time,
Looks good,
Is waterproof even in the shower, diving, or surfing,
Is light weight,
The Indiglo light is great,
The functions are easy to use,
You don't need the manual to figure it out, unlike Casio,
Stainless steel band looks great and lasts for years.
Band is easy to adjust compared to Casio.
The price is low so you can just buy a new one when the battery goes,
The battery lasts for years if you don't use the light or alarm too much,
I'm very active and hard on watches. As they say, it takes a linkin' and keeps on tickin'.
Cons:
The band is stainless steel but the silver color on the watch is just silver paint on plastic. It wears away by the time the battery fades. That's ok with me because I just buy a new watch anyway.
